Tia Mowry Repurposed Her Wedding Ring Into These Pieces - WBLS

Tia Mowry has found a meaningful way to repurpose her wedding ring after her divorce from Cory Hardrict. The actress, known for her roles in Sister, Sister and Family Reunion, shared the emotional journey on her new reality series, Tia Mowry: My Next Act. In the Oct. 11 episode, she explained why she decided to transform the symbol of her 14-year marriage into something special for her children.

“I haven’t worn it for almost two years now, and it just doesn’t feel right to sell it,” Mowry said on the show. Instead of parting with the ring, she wanted to pass it down to her son, Cree, and daughter, Cairo. “What I am wanting to do is change my wedding band into something for my kids. Pass it down because they have been my biggest gift,” she added.

The emotional process was captured as Mowry visited a jeweler to discuss her plans. She chose to have a necklace made for Cree and a bracelet for Cairo. “I just think it’s so beautiful to transform something that was given out of love and to give it to your children. It just makes me feel like my marriage wasn’t a waste. I did the right thing,” she explained.

Mowry admitted it was difficult to separate the ring from the memories of her relationship with Hardrict. “It’s hard for me to not think about Cory when I am deciding to repurpose my wedding band because he is the one who gave me my wedding ring,” she reflected. Despite the emotional weight, she made the decision for herself and her children.

The actress acknowledged that moving on after a divorce isn’t easy, but repurposing the ring helped her find closure. “It’s been sitting in a drawer… It was very pretty,” she noted, while describing the diamond ring.

Ultimately, the gesture served as a reminder that the love she shared with Hardrict was not in vain, even though the marriage ended. “At the end of the day, I think he’ll be okay with it because it’s for the kids,” Mowry said with resolve.

Her actions emphasize the beauty in transforming painful moments into something meaningful for the next generation.
