New Butterfly Group Is Named After ‘Lord of the Rings’ Villain Sauron

Scientists discovered a new genus of butterflies with dark spots on their orange wings that look like eyes. They named it after Sauron, the villain in J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings," who is symbolized by a fiery eye.
